On the bottom of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is physiological needs. I don’t have very many examples of technology in my life being a physiological need, but every once in a while in order to go to sleep I will go on my phone and watch YouTube videos to help me sleep. After physiological needs there is safety needs. An example of using technology for safety needs is when I use the ring camera app to see who rang my doorbell. This saves me time because if I am busy then I don’t have to stop what I am doing and answer the door and when I look at the app if I don’t know who is at the door I can just ignore it. An example for belongingness and love needs would be using my phone to keep in contact with friends who went to different colleges or to talk to my family members who live in different states. The next step in Maslow’s Hierarch would be esteem needs. An example of this would be posting your accomplishments on social media. Things like your graduation, internships, buying your first house, and others could be included in this section. The last step is self-actualization. An example of this could included artistic adventures.
