1. For the money- I think that this makes the most sense for committing crimes because money rules everything around us. You can buy clothes, shoes, houses, cars, pay your bills and do all types of other stuff with money. Money is extremally important to live and if you don’t have any doing a crime can sometimes seem like an easy way to get a lot of money.
  2. Political- I ranked political as number two because sometimes in the government laws and policies aren’t put into place until something big happens. If you are committing some kind of crime because you feel that you aren’t being heard by your local representative or you feel that not enough is being done for your community then the crime might not seem as bad depending on the situation.
  3. Revenge- Depending on what the person did to you sometimes the best way to get back at them is to do something against them. Sometimes people don’t have a good response when you are trying to be the bigger person, so you have to go down to their level. I think this is not the best reason to commit a crime, but it would be understandable, to me at least, on why you committed the crime.
  4. Multiple reasons- This one is in the middle because it really depends on the situation. Some people will commit crimes for the money and recognition for themselves, while others might want to bring recognition to a political issue. Due to the fact that this one varies depending on the person I put it in the middle.
  5. Recognition- For some people the fame or recognition is worth the crime they commit. They want people to know who they are and will do anything to get their name out there. I don’t think this is smart, but I also don’t think this is the stupidest one. This isn’t a good reason to commit a crime, but there are worse ones.
  6. Entertainment- This one seems more cruel than the previous ones. Any crime, small or large, affects someone directly so to commit a crime to entertain yourself is one that makes little sense to me. It would seems like the person committing the crime is an awful person who doesn’t care about their actions or how it affects others.
  7. Boredom- This one makes the least sense to me. It is for the same reason that entertainment makes little sense to me. It seems cruel and unnecessary. There are many things that have been created to help with boredom that doesn’t effect someone else negatively. There is no real gain from this, so I don’t see why anyone would do this.
