One way computers have made the world safer is by getting us information quicker than ever before. One example of this is when knowing when and where a crime has been or is being committed at. On campus if there is a crime that has happened they can easily send everyone who lives and works on campus an email letting us know the details of the crime. One time there was an armed robbery outside of one of the dorms and we all notified of the crime and told to be on the look out for the suspects because they were at large. Everyone knew that the best options was to stay in our dorms because it wasn’t safe to be out there. One way it has made the world less safe is social media. Social media makes many people think that it is a safe place to post about your life, but sometimes people give out too much information. People post when they are on vacation they post their location letting others know that they are not home and some people would take this opportunity to rob them. Social media is not a safe place and if the wrong person sees the right thing it can cause a whole lot of trouble. Another way that computers make the world less safe is by having all of our information up there. Many people have smart phones which can hold all your passwords, locations, friends and family information and so much more. This stuff can easily be hacked and that person will become a victim of identity theft. Computers have many benefits, but it also comes with many problems. They have to find ways to make things better. Engineers make cyber networks safer by finding out how to make things safer. They have to find out what happened and how the hacker actually hacked the systems. They retrace the hackers steps and then close the access the hacker broke into.
