Exploring Culture<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had a few different assignments this semester where we had to research and write about different regions\/cultures. For example, I researched how Costa Rica and how and when they used different forms of Spanish words. I learned a lot about how different regions have different variations of how they use certain words or phrases. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engaging in Communities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In English, give a brief description of the value of, and importance of, engaging in your immediate community and the global community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflect on your experience and participation in these communities. Include artifacts such as photos, audio\/video clips, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interpersonal Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have been given a few assignments this semester where our professor recorded herself asking questions about our lives and we had to answer in Spanish. Once both parts were put together it sounded like we were having a conversation. This allowed me to work on my communication skills and timing while speaking Spanish. I also was able to expand my vocabulary so I was able to give my professor full answers to her questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interpretive Listening<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the semester, we have had many questions on exams, quizzes and homework where we would listen to an audio clip in Spanish and answer a question about it or say what words we heard from it. These assignments have helped me to understand Spanish in real time and how to pronounce the words better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interpretive Reading<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had many assignments this semester where we had to read paragraphs, messages, etc. in Spanish with missing words and use context clues to fill in the blanks with the correct Spanish words. This helped me a lot with mastering my vocabulary and learning how to put sentences together in Spanish. It also helped with my grammar although I still struggle with that. Grammar is definitely my weak spot in Spanish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
