Subject: Left and Right Hand Form on Violin

Lesson Title: All About Form
Learning Objective – The student will learn how to pursue correct form of the bowing hand (where fingers go, bowing form exercises) and correct form of the left hand, (shape of fingers on finger board, form of wrist) as well as how to correctly hold the violin under the chin through specific exercises that throughly explain the different techniques.
Materials needed: Violin, bow, and chin rest
Warmups: Question of the day (“What is their favorite instrument?”) and going over quick bow finger exercises that the student can practice at home.
Prior Knowledge and Experience: Students already know about the parts of the bow (frog, stick, pad, etc.) and violin (scroll, fingerboard, strings, etc.)
Example: The student will learn the exercises through example and model of the teacher.
Check for Understanding: In a real classroom setting, the teacher will ask each student to do each different exercise and walk through and help each student who is struggling
Closing: The end of the lesson will conclude with a repeat of the different exercises each student can practice at home that they just went over in class (statue of liberty, rocket ship, windshield wipers)
