Textbook Evaluation

During this course, I worked extensively with the text Let’s Go: Let’s Begin Student Book 4th Edition. The publisher description is provided below.

Let’s Go, Let’s Begin maximizes children’s talking time in class through dialogues, pair work and communicative games. This combined with the rhythm and melody of the acclaimed Carolyn Graham songs makes the language memorable” (Nakata et. al).

This course text is designed for young language learners in a multi-skills class. The text covers a wide variety of age appropriate and engaging topics for children. The majority of activities for students is speaking and listening based. It is heavy on visual stimuli but also has the option for use of a CD for auditory guidance of activities. The technological addition allows for the text to be suitable for a group or individual setting.
