The decision to escalate incidents to law enforcement is an area fraught with conflict. In your opinion, what are the pros and cons of law enforcement involvement?

Utilizing law enforcement has its benefits and drawbacks when trying to combat cybercrime. One of the benefits is that since cybercrime frequently crosses international borders, law enforcement organizations can also help foster international collaboration to find and apprehend cybercriminals there. Another advantage is that public awareness of the gravity of cyber threats can be improved through high-profile cybercrime investigations and prosecutions, increasing cybersecurity awareness. On the other hand, there are so many cybersecurity incidents law enforcement organizations need more resources to manage them, which could result in underreporting and incomplete investigations of cybercrimes. Another issue is that large amounts of data may be gathered during cybercrime investigations, posing privacy and civil liberties issues.
