Reflection #2
After presenting the project and receiving valuable feedback, I feel confident in the lesson and information we formed as a group. Dividing the whole group into smaller sections was a great idea, and this allowed for us to focus on specific information regarding the topic. The smaller groups have a better understanding of what they specifically researched, and I could tell they’ve put a lot of thought into the presentation. Some group members were unable to attend, but the whole group was able to manage and present the information within the slides. The rehearsal went very well and there were no complications during the presentation other than some members being absent.
Our group will be presenting to high school students, and I believe the information we plan on sharing will be very informative. Some of those students will study at a university so this information may be beneficial to them later on. They could possibly share this information with other members in the community and improve overall public health awareness. Our group topic correlates with current events, so the information may be easier for our target audience to comprehend. The pictures used in our slides are simple, but they are informative enough for the students to visually understand. I believe this combination allows for an easier introduction to the topic, and it shouldn’t overwhelm the students with too much complex information.
Overall, this dress rehearsal benefitted my entire group, as well as myself. Our presentation had a nice flow and contained a lot of information on how a virus works. Everyone seems to understand the current plan and what they need to do to accomplish it. Hopefully, by the time we have to present to the students, everyone will be able to attend. Since most of the group was present for the rehearsal, we should be able to provide the absent students with the feedback. The communication between our group is positive and helpful, and I feel confident of our current situation.
