At this point of time, our group has done a good job of organizing the project. Our topic contains a lot of information, so everyone agreed that splitting into smaller groups would be beneficial to our work. We have split the groups into days people would most likely be available, and we are tasked with finding the specific information regarding the topic. There have been a few meetings that some people were able to attend, and this allowed for them to complete the flier ahead of time. In the smaller focused group that I chose, we made an outline of information we should research ahead of time. Our group is in charge of researching how the body responds to a virus. I’ve done research ahead of time and I was able to share information regarding the body’s mechanisms to them. Things are going well, and with the information we plan on sharing, this will be implemented into the main power point we plan on presenting.

Most things are going well, but there have been some challenges along the way. Since our group is so large, it is difficult to coordinate an exact time outside of class to talk about the project. Some members, including myself, have been unable to attend certain meetings. Fortunately, my group has made a group chat to keep others involved and up to date on the group’s current progress. Other than the meeting time challenges, everyone in the group knows what they should be doing to be ready for the upcoming presentation.

I’ve been doing research on the Brooks-Crossing Innovation Lab, and it looks like a great institution developed by various parts of the community. It allows students of all ages to learn material within the STEM field. They have various programs and workshops for the students to get involved within the community. They focus a lot on students’ success, and the skills learned at Brooks-Crossing would be beneficial to the students’ lives inside & outside of school. I’ve been told that our group plans to present to high school students. Many of these students may attend the same University, and study within the same field we are currently learning about. It’s really interesting to know that the information we present to them may help them in future learning.
