Cell biology is very important because it is the foundation from what we are made. I was able to take what I learned from this class and apply it to my plant behavior lab because I was able to better understand why the plant cells behaved the say they did under certain stress. It also helped me better understand my project in psychology about sleep studies since we discussed neurons firing and cell communication. The class helped me learn a lot about the functions of proteins and hormones that are also important to our daily lives. I have a lot of thyroid problems and being able to understand what if happening in my body and how medications work was very interesting. I liked that we also had a chance to communicate with classmates through discussions, it allows us to think more openly about concepts. The class is over but I still want to post and ask these questions that I have. It is important for students and everyone to ask the “why” questions because it helps build understanding. We could also learn about topics and research things that we care about more deeply rather than a surface level search.
