I received numerous personal awards throughout my 21 years of Naval service, to include:
Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3)
Joint Service Achievement Medal (1)
Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4)
Flag Letter of Commendation for Distinguished Leadership (1)
Good Conduct Medal (6)
Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2)
Overseas Service Deployment Ribbon (1)
Navy Accession Training Service Ribbon (1)
Below are the citations of three awards that I am especially proud of.
This was my last official award for Naval Service, which highlighted my achievements at my last duty station. It is difficult to culminate two years of work into seven lines. The citation explains the accomplishments that led to me being awarded.
Receiving my Master Training Specialist certification meant a lot to me. It was the culmination of hundreds of hours spent training new recruits at the Navy’s only boot camp. This certification meant that I exceeded the standard of training in a Navy environment.
This was my appointment letter authorizing me to wear the uniform of a Chief Petty Officer. Being able to earn the rank of Chief Petty Officer is truly a milestone in a Navy Enlisted Sailor’s career. With this appointment comes great responsibility, as the junior Sailors and senior Officers come to rely upon you for guidance and to uphold the standards.
