Artifact 3:

The module that I engaged with the most out of modules 11-14 was module 12. The assignment assigned was to read a list of statements and then circle any statements that indicate aggression. I felt that this module exercise was very informational because aggression is sometimes misconstrued and people believe that non-aggressive acts are considered aggressive, but aggression is dependent on the intent of the act against another person. From this assignment, I learned that aggression comes in many different situations and that it is not limited to only harm against humans, that aggression can be harm against nonliving things or even animals. This assignment expanded my knowledge on aggression and survival and how many people have to use their aggressive side in order to survive in rough conditions. Survival of the fittest is the best scenario in which a person may have to become aggressive against others in order to survive. This doesn’t necessarily make that person an aggressive person, but the action they are taking may come across as aggressive. The image I decided to include for my representative image are the results from the statements and which ones I felt indicate aggression which are highlighted.

Artifact 2:

The next few modules that we were instructed to do all ranged from different topics, but the one archived item that I felt the most engaged in was module 8 item archive. This assignment required me to come up with a list of adjectives that describe myself which was fairly easy because I feel like I have many qualities that describe who I am. However, I also didn’t favor this assignment too much because at the beginning of the assignment we were asked to give certain stereotypes to certain nationalities/ethnicities. I was not a fan of this part of the assignment because as a black woman I am constantly getting stereotyped by the world and even black people in general are made to be a certain way and act a certain way which is incorrect and demeaning for our race. I had a hard time understanding why the world sees Black people as criminals and poor just because of the color on our skin. When in reality, white people and other minorities are just as able to be criminals and poor individuals as well. A persons nationality and color on their skin doesn’t determine the personality of that person, so I felt that this assignment just showed how society stereotypes individuals on a daily basis. The image I decided to include for this assignment is the world cloud of adjectives that describe me as a person.

Artifact 1:

Throughout the first few weeks of the semester, we were instructed to complete four ‘Items to Archive’ and each assignment we took what we learned for the week and competed the assignment based off what we have been learning. The artifact that I engaged with the most was Module 4 Item to Archive. I liked this archived item the most because it had to do with heuristics and the heuristics chapter interested me the most so far this semester. I learned from this activity that whenever we make decisions or judgements there are always underlying circumstances that may affect decisions and judgements. This assignment expanded my knowledge on heuristics because I was able to watch first hard of how news broadcasters and reporters can overreact and overestimate situations which can cause people to think certain ways. Also, this assignment helped me understand the reasoning behind why individuals think the way they do which heuristics plays a role in specifically. With the assignment, I included a screenshot of the video that I watched for the actual archived item. The screenshot is of a little boy that was making a judgement call based off of representative heuristics.
