Being older I have
experienced the “real world” and know what doors open with the proper education.
Due to this my current level of confidence is fairly high. Scoring myself a 37
out of 40, or a mean score of 3.7, giving my self three moderately true scores
for the first three questions. The reasons why I did not give myself a higher
rating comes from past experiences. For starters, the first question “I can
always manage to solve difficult problems if I try hard enough” is only mostly
true for myself because sometimes no matter how hard I try I cannot solve a
problem without the assistance of others. Overall, I feel that I am a confident
student but that was not always the case. Over the years I have become more
familiar with the process and have persevered through many difficult courses. I
believe that these self-efficacy results directly correlate to my overall performance
at ODU and I plan on using these skills to continue growing as a student.

Blog #1

“Logic versus Creativity”

https://humanhow.com/en/list-of-cognitive-biases-with-examples/ “Logic versus Creativity”: I liked this image because it is a simple visual representation of how our minds work.

The course “Social Psychology” (PSYC304) will help me in the future by providing me with the information and skills to learn how to better understand others. I am happy to say that I expect to thoroughly enjoy this course, the readings have been relatable and engaging thus far and I look forward to the following chapters. I hope to gain a broad understanding of how our brain interprets the information given in different forms. Having taken online courses in the past there are some strategies that I plan to carry over into this course. Due dates and quizzes are all handwritten in my calendar and crossed off each day to ensure all assignments are completed on time.

Blog #2 “Outside the classroom”: I chose to share this image because I feel that there is a disconnect between what we are learning and actually experiencing it.
