FitnessByBlitz is more than just a personal media persona, it’s a way of life. The idea of the word “Blitz” came from the word Blitzkrieg, used to describe a military tactic of getting a quick and decisive victory by throwing everything you have at the enemy. I’ve repurposed the word “Blitz” to mean going all in on achieving your goals and dreams, and to act decisively instead of contemplating. The saying “Be Your Own Hero” is the idea of being proud of who is looking back in the mirror at you everyday. Many people idolize athletes, movie stars, political figures etc like they’ve transcended flesh and blood. I’m not saying that it isn’t good to admire people who have had success in whatever field you’re interested in, and that you can’t learn from what they do in order to improve yourself. I’m simply giving the idea that you should work to improve your circumstances to be the best version of yourself that you can possibly be. You should become your OWN hero in every way, which can manifest itself in different ways for each individual person.
Throughout high school and college, I have always been a great student, achieving honor roll and deans list every semester. I have always been in great shape and have done well as an athlete. During my junior year of college; however, I woke up one day any had a terrible feeling in my stomach. I was going through the motions, and I needed to find purpose in my life. I partied three or more times a week, and all I cared about was my social status. This wasn’t who I was or imagined myself being.
This led me to get my personal trainer certification in March of 2022, and interning at a local gym called Jim White Fitness and Nutrition. I impressed the staff and management with my knowledge and charisma, and soon I was hired as a personal trainer. There were a lot of growing pains: early mornings, uncomfortable conversations with clients, and struggle with the balance of school and work. Eventually, I got the hang of it and I gained the trust and respect of my clients, coworkers, and managers. Over the last two years, this has developed into a major passion of mine. I have always wanted to make a positive impact in others lives, and now I have the chance everyday to do just that. Not only have I helped to physically and mentally change the lives of my clients, but they have completely changed mine.
This story comes full circle with the creation of fitnessbyblitz in May of 2023. I wanted to share my knowledge and stories with the world. I have documented two half marathons, client transformations, volunteering at homeless shelters, workout routines, and done a series called “technique Tuesday”. The most recent breakthrough of mine has been making shirts that have my logo on them, with the help of my “marketing manager” and good friend, Maddy. I love this page because it is ME in every single way.
