The media, and even technology is way more advanced than it was half a decade ago. It is more prominent for sports media outlets to put their stories on social media apps including twitter, facebook, and instagram. It has a broader audience to get more information off of social media in different ways. The main media outlet I get my sports news from is Twitter. Twitter provides updated information straight from the source. you can see videos, pictures, etc. on twitter as if you were watching TV. It is also cool because you can see everyday people’s responses to what just happened in the sports world. In 2017 Twitter was prominent, but not as big as it is now. More people are joining and less people are watching cable television, barely watching television at all. Five years in the future we probably will see updates projecting off of the phone, and maybe even drones, or things of that nature that will easily share news about various sports events that happened. If I could wave a magic wand and make one change to the sports communication landscape it would be that everything will have to be approved before touching the surface of the internet, meaning it would have to be completely truthful in all aspects. I think it will help with getting the real opinions on stories instead of everyone gossiping about an untruthful event happening.
