This semester I am most excited about getting involved on campus and meeting new people. My biggest challenge is definitely time management and procrastination because I get distracted so easily I lose track of time and it ends up being late. Being in LLC is the only commitment I have made as of now. I will spend around four to five hours a week doing events for LLC, and balancing school with LLC will be simple. I will just stay on top of my work and turn it in before the due date. In high school, I was involved in soccer, swim team, the student council association, and national honors society. Currently there are no organizations I want to join because I want to focus more on school. From this experience I hope to form a stronger connection with the staff and other individuals in LLC.
My intended major is nursing and the reason I chose nursing is because I have always wanted to help others who are in need. I have always been taking care of people ever since I was younger and that is why I think nursing is the perfect field. I volunteered at a hospital for about three months until COVID hit and shut the program down. Later on I plan on being a travel nurse working in the ER possibly with a significant other.
The biggest difference between highschool and college is living on your own and having to take care of everything yourself. There is a major difference between studying and having homework. When somebody studies they take time to go over and comprehend the subject rather than doing homework you just do the work because you have to. I typically study in the common area of my room because it is very quiet and there are no distractions. The main distractions I have are my phone and others around me but I avoid it by walking away from the issue. I prefer to study at night because it is more quiet and there are usually less distractions. Taking notes in color helps me study better because I am more likely to go over the material more than once.
