Andriy Slynchuk goes over 11 different things many users do or may have done that is illegal. Of the 11 listed, I feel that 11,9,7,6, and 5 are the worst ones of the list. 11 is illegal searches on the internet. I would say this is the worst one on the list due to the horrible things it could mean. It can really range but the bad part of the range stands out tenfold compared to the rest of this list. 9 is the collection of information from children. To me this is absolutely vile. Children are unaware of what they are doing online the majority of the time and to take advantage of a child is something worthy of a long jail sentence. 7 is faking your identity online. While I think this is another one that can range. I think if you are using a fake identity to keep your anonymous status, you are not in the wrong. However if you are faking your identity to take advantage of others then you are in the wrong. It could go from someone who just wants to be safe from others, or someone who wants to take from others. Very tough thing to enforce but one that needs to be taken seriously. 6 is the recording of a VoIP call without the others consent. This is just a direct breach of trust and privacy. To join a VoIP call with someone you are under the impression that you are in a space where you do not have to tip toe around your words unless the other user specified they are recording. Finally 5 is bullying and trolling. Bullying has always been something I have tried to fight. My sibling was bullied in school and it made me so mad for her. Bullying is terrible for the victim’s mind and sometimes body. And many victims try to escape their lives online because they are being bullied. But to then go online and be bullied there can make them feel trapped and can end in the loss of their life. Very serious and scary problem that needs to be addressed more often.
