What are the connections between the disciplines addressing entrepreneurship at ODU?
At ODU, entrepreneurship is addressed through an interdisciplinary perspective. No matter what major one may be in, it is all connected, and you would be able to enlighten yourself in the study of entrepreneurship. The Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship has programs that link students to vast resources and expertise to get them started in whatever fashion necessary.
Is entrepreneurship an art or science?
It is neither. Entrepreneurship is more of a practice joining what we have learned from studies such as the arts and sciences. At the same time, it can be a means of benefitting and utilizing those studies. This would be seen in using science to make sure the business runs smoothly, while the arts would help make the business more appealing to your consumer base.
How is failure good?
Failure is good because it shows us what doesn’t work so we can adjust as we keep going. Failures are good teachers. It also pushes us to be persistent (if we choose to react this way) and stronger whenever we come face to face with adversity again. It can also help us to be more empathetic toward others who are fighting and may be failing at the time.
What have I learned from failing?
I have learned how to be disciplined and persistent through failing. With finding out what doesn’t work for myself, I have learned to also be more empathetic toward myself and others as failure can happen in anything. How I react to failure is the main point to focus on. I have also figured out how to go about things in a better/smarter way.
What ethical issues might arise related to what I am working on?
If this relates to my proposal, I believe there aren’t too many ethical issues as this has to do with securing data in the cloud for local businesses. There might be issues for those who do not like the extensive use of technology in their everyday lives, and yes, there is always the risk of the information being hacked or accessed through a different means. This, however, does not pertain to the ethical stature of our proposed company as a whole. Therefore, I do not believe there is an ethical issue regarding Cloud Sentinel.
