I think fairy tales have reflected the cultural norms and values for certain time periods. For example, the common fairy tales like Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, etc. they are old commonly told stories and for a very long time women were looked at as damsels in distress that needed saving by a Prince so they can live happily ever after. As we’ve progressed as we have seen our Disney princesses progress as well, like Princess Tiana was trying to have her own restaurant and that was her dream, not falling in love with a Prince. Even in other stories like Mulan, Tangled, Brave, etc. they are more geared to the Princess lead not only wanting to fall in love. They fought and showed that women can be just as strong as men and do not need to only want to long for being a wife.
Princesses Tiana had a positive influence on me because she was the first time that I could remember that one of the Princesses was Black. Not only was she black but she had dreams and goals she wanted to obtain, she did not just want to be a Princes wife unlike her best friend Charlotte. She had to grow to love him and she still lived out her dreams. This was good for me because I was raised to be independent.

I choose this picture because I talked about Disney characters and they have become more inclusive in my generation.
