For assignment three we had to reflect on other people’s study abroad experiences. I was interested in what study abroad was like in Rome and I came across Cahleb Derry’s post and it felt relatable. My takeaway from his blogs was that if I can find the opportunity to stud abroad or even travel and experience a different culture do it. Also, while there embraces the culture versus trying to Americanize another culture just to feel at ease with certain things. I am not sure if I can study aboard before I graduate due to it being my senior year and I need internships but Cahleb talked about how it is possible to get an internship in a different country. Working on my diversity certificate that can be a big asset to have because what greater experience of diversity than being in a different culture all together.

This is a picture of me in New Orleans. During this trip I tried to get the experience of the city besides just drinking on Bourbon Street. I went on a food tour of some of the greatest restaurants and it gave us background info on the food of the city and origins of it. We also talked to natives of the city to gauge life in New Orleans outside of the tourist spots which I feel relates to the study abroad blog post.
