Blog Ten:
Comparing my initial blog to now I notice that I learned pretty much the same from the first time I took this class. However I spent more time studying the material so that I could grasp it a little better. My attitude has not changed much about the topic of this class other than I have grown more to understand why it is so important. I feel that I have grasped the course objectives fairly well and if I did it all over again I would not change much I changed pretty much everything I wanted too after the first time. One skill I gained from this course to utilize in my professional life would be to understand others different cultures a little better and to appreciate them more.
Blog Nine:
The top three things I have learned in this course are how different people are from one another just because of where they are from, how independent I am based on the survey I took, and how much fairy tales are so different from real life. All from the blogs I discussed. I think that all of the blogs kind of spilled over to each other. Learning about myself and other countries and how they perceive things differently from me all goes together. The fairy tales section plays into it all because growing up watching them we sort of base those lessons into real life and to now see they are not what we thought they were all kind of goes together. My classes are all so different but I think my Gangs course falls relatively close with this class because they come so culturally different and learning their backgrounds and learning about different backgrounds in this class plays a similar psychological learning experience.
Blog Eight:
I try and pay attention to people from different cultures and how they express themselves. Whether it is the same or different from how we express ourselves. Even after reading the article I do not think that there is much difference in the way we all express ourselves. Every person is different but as a whole I think we all show similar ways of how we are feeling. It was not much different than what I expected because we are all human and I expect that there are ways and mannerisms that might be similar no matter where we are from. Universality and cultural display rules can definitely help back up my thoughts to an extent but I think my perception is a little different so I can not relate completely with those rules.
Blog Seven:
Fairy tales do not reflect cultural norms and values. That is why they are called fairy tales. I have not read or watched a single one that relates to real life situations. Whether it’s Pocahontas or Beauty and the Beast they are all make believe. I think the authors know that when they are producing and writing these fairy tales they are reaching out to the youth, and are not necessarily trying to give history lessons. The cultures and things that are being displayed in fairy tales are nothing bad however they do not reflect real life in my opinion.
Blog six:
I am autonomous academically because of my presence of interest. I have a passion for giving back and helping others and with this degree that is exactly what I will be able to do. I express competence with my ability to complete all of the tasks as hands to the best of my ability. I give 100% of my efforts and I know I do my best. Relatedness shows through my capabilities of comprehending the material given and knowing that I can relate it to real life situations.
Blog Five:
Based on the 10 statements I wrote I am very independent. All 10 were associated with independence. I am my own person, I do not like to follow under someone else’s footsteps. I believe that I can do all on my own. Well for the most part. I am not perfect was one of my statements, I wrote it because it shows that through my strong willed mind I know that I make mistakes from time to time however I learn from them and grow from them and I believe me being so independent really helps me learn from those mistakes.
Blog Four:
During this test I felt more prepared than normal. Although, yes I have taken this course before I still feel as though there is so much to learn. I only got one question wrong on the exam and all my studying shows. I spaced out the review sheet just fine I thought. The one question I did get wrong I went back and reviewed my notes on why I got it wrong and what the correct answer was. I made a mistake on that one part so hopefully next time I will add more material to my studying and get a 100%.
(the chapter where I needed to study more)
Blog Three:
After taking the personality test on the openness scale I scored very high. On the Conscientiousness scale I scored lowered than I had expected. On the Agreeableness scale I scored high, on the Extraversion scale I scored in the middle and on the Neuroticism I scored in the middle as well. My personality in my opinion is consistent for the most part with the responses I got. Conscientiousness is the only category I thought I would score higher on.
Blog Two:
School was never an importance to me when I was in high school. However, I joined the military out of high school and while I was in everyone around me was completing their degrees. So I thought why not try. I chose something I loved to do and made it the degree to achieve. My biggest supporter is my mother. She continues daily to remind me how proud of me she is and to keep pushing. My biggest reason however to continue on is my daughter. I know one day my success will make her proud.

Blog One:
The course objectives outlined how much I will learn in the course. Although this is my second time taking this course it already seems to be a little different from the last. I am hoping that I grasp the concept better and will learn a great deal. I look forward most to learning about the different cultural’s and why they are so unique in their differences from what I am use to.
