Bala Ramjee graduated with a B.Sc. (Chemistry) from Loyola College<\/a>, Madras, India in 1994. He joined the integrated Ph.D. program in Indian Institute of Science<\/a>, Bangalore, India from where he obtained his M.S. (Chemical Sciences) in 1997 and Ph.D. (Organic Chemistry) in 2001 under the supervision of Prof. Uday Maitra<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He was a postdoctoral associate in the laboratories of Prof. Alexander Wei<\/a> (Department of Chemistry, Purdue University, IN) and Prof. Royce W. Murray<\/a> (Department of Chemistry, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC) before joining the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in Old Dominion University as an Assistant Professor in August 2007.<\/p>\n
