I reviewed an article from the International Journal of Cybercriminology titled LGBTQ Cyberbullying on Online Learning Platforms Among University Students. This article relates to the elements of social science through the analysis of the education system and the role it has in cyberbullying. Making use of disciplines such as sociology, psychology, and education to create a well-rounded analysis. The study attempts to address the factors that contribute to cyberbullying. In doing so, gathers the factors to see if there is a way to mitigate the rate cyberbullying takes place. Overall, the article analyzes the difference in cyberbullying of non-LGBTQ members to LGBTQ members to determine if being a LGBTQ member is a determining factor.

This article uses secondary research in this paper to further set up the basis of the article. Using prior defined terms as well as prior data from studies to aid its hypothesis. This is also used to further educate the reader on the topic at hand. Quantitative research is heavily used in this article, being a major piece of data that is referenced throughout the paper. The technique of convenience sampling was used to select the sample that was used. Using diagnostic and descriptive analysis of the data that was taken from the sample. This resulted in certain factors being highlighted and allowed the study to see what factors were contributing to the issue. Victimization is a term that came to mind when reviewing the article. Seeing if there were any predetermined factors on why some people were receiving more cyberbullying than others. In this study it was evident that boys tended to be more confrontational when they received any form of bullying. This is the opposite of how girls would react when receiving certain types of cyberbullying. Girls would on average be more likely to block or ignore cyberbullying. Additionally, a concept from class that was explored was the style of data gathering used. The type of study done was surveying. This made it easier to gather information from a larger group of students.

This article highlighted the marginalized group of LGBTQ members. Doing research to determine the factors that led to cyberbullying of LGBTQ members. The article highlighted the effects that cyberbullying has on members associated with the community. Identifying how cyberbullying impacts rates of suicide, confidence, depression, and engagement in school. Hoping to further indicate why LGBTQ members need to be given support in the school setting.
