Researches could use this information to see what types of data breaches are the most common across the country, and therefore figure out which types of breaches need to be the most protected against. There is also a list of known data brokers, and with that list, researches can figure out what type of people are the most prone to data breaches. They also have a map of the amount of breaches per state, and figuring out why some states have more than others will help in figuring out how to better protect against breaches.
