The Human Integration System (HIS) is an interdisciplinary approach in developing and sustaining human and technology-based systems. A Human Centered Cybersecurity (HCC) is a part of the HIS which helps reduce human enabled errors.

The HIS in Relation to the Meme

The Human Integration System relies heavily on human and technology-based systems. The human aspect is the most important part of the HIS as all technology relies on people to properly secure the systems to prevent data breaches from outside sources. The meme above talks about how people often reuse passwords and commit them to memory. Although this could be a good strategy as the password is in someone’s head, the downsides outweigh the benefits. For example, as more passwords are starting to be used for multiple accounts on different websites, it can be harder to remember which password goes to that specific website. A person will then start to reuse passwords, which causes a security risk for all accounts that share the same password. A password manager will prevent this as only one password has to be memorized. In addition, the passwords for the websites will be randomly generated, which reduces the risk of multiple accounts being compromised. By having Human Centered Cybersecurity (HCC) policies in tandem with HIS, cybersecurity breaches can be reduced and passwords can be safely stored and protected.
