Designing the Public Sphere: Information Technologies and the Politics of Mediation

Based on the technological race towards developing innovations that lessen the involvement of human actions but rather actions created by devices instead, human involvement needs to be kept at the same level of advancements as technology. Without this, human interactions would eventually be consumed. Think of AI as an example, it is one of many innovations being developed that could soon take over our lives. We soon wouldn’t have to do anything, but instead have robots do it. Everything that humans have already been regulating, such as companies, markets, and healthcare, would need to be adapted to our current age of technology where everything is possible. We must consider all possibilities on what technology can do when conducting our business. In market and business regulations, unethical practices created by technology need to be considered in order for there to be fair competition. Groups or organizations should have equal access to technology so there is no imbalances. Individuals should be limited onto how much creativity/openness they can have with technology, as more experience with it can lead to more potential ways to utilize it unethically. These are adaptations to keep in mind with how our material world needs to keep on pace with how quick technology is advancing.
