Over quarantine, I researched about black maternal mortality rate and found it very interesting. I knew about racial bias in the medical field but never knew how bad it affected people of color. This all made me want to be a labor and delivery nurse and hopefully a nurse practitioner focusing on women&#8217;s health.<\/p>\n<p>At the moment I do not have any experience in my desired field but I do hope to be able to shadow nurses at my OB\/GYN practice over the summer.
