The overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime is that cybercrime is one of the forms of criminal behavior that is studied by the discipline of criminal justice. Many of the concepts and theories that apply to traditional crime also translate into cybercrime and cyber criminals. criminal justice offers a framework for developing, researching, and interpreting cyber law. The statistics for cybercrime are newer as it is a newer medium, and there are different factors that are being discovered each day. Criminal justice can also be useful in helping to identify appropriate interventions and responses to cyber offenders. Core concepts are able to hold true, for example, that women are more likely to commit non-violent crime and as such, women are more likely to commit fraud than another type of cybercrime. Cybercrimes don’t require the utilization of any power since the offenders only utilize the personalities of their casualties to take from them. For instance, cybercriminals utilize mocking and phishing to acquire individual data, for example, credit card numbers from their casualties, or utilize scrambled messages to organize viciousness remotely. Hence there is significant impact on cybercrime when compared with conventional crime. Since cybercrime includes culprits utilizing distorted names and working from remote areas, it for the most part takes more time to recognize the genuine cybercriminals and secure them. Of the 531 criminal justice programs in the sample, just 16.2 percent of the programs included cyber security coursework in the criminal justice curricula, with a handful of the criminal justice programs offering multiple cyber security courses. Cybercrime is not victimless and is considered the largest threats to financial institutions, the government, investors, corporations, and (recently) educational institutions. It is important that the professionals in the criminal justice field are made aware of the dangers that cybercrime poses to all people, otherwise it runs the risk of the teams tasked with handling them being underfunded.
