Society has become so dependent upon technology that it is hard to imagine a world without it. Technology has changed almost every aspect of our lives. People are constantly on their phones, there are computers in almost every device in our homes, and technology is even used at school and work. Technology has grown at an exponential rate. New ideas and innovations are being introduced every single day. Due to this rapid growth, it is hard for society and the government to keep up. For example, new cybercrimes are being committed and the legislative system can not keep up which is evident in the lack of cyber laws. The problem is that the world does not know what these new technologies are fully capable of. Cyber policy should be proactive in building a foundation for future policies to add to but not be so rigid that even benign activities can be construed as harmful. It is impossible to completely cover every situation but with new individuals learning about technology, the people that create policy should interact with top minds about how they feel the policy can be made better. Cyber infrastructure is very important and should be invested in for the purpose of defending against threats. Many other countries have infrastructure that allows them to have incredibly high internet speeds, and this will become very important in the future. As more things become digitized, it is imperative that we are able to access them quickly so that efficiency can improve. The costs for these attacks and breaches continue to rise year after year so that would certainly be another reason to have policies in place to try and help with that. Every organization either it is small one or big one they must follow the strong security policies and avoid the any types of breaches and threats.
