I have gotten to learn about poems that focus on love. My interest in these poems leads to my success in the class. My class I find myself needing the most effort put into receiving a good grade is chemistry. I have gotten a tutor for extra assistance in the class. I have also been using a quizlet a ton for studying information and extra practice problems.

Transition to College

Along with moving to college you receive a lot of worries and expectations. Here are my expectations for coming to college. I expected to be meeting tons of new people and to have tons of school work piling up as the weeks go on. Coming to college I did meet so many new people that I can now call my friends. My school work has differed from my expectations. I assumed I would be drowning in it; however, I have managed to keep my grades up by balancing my schedule out. I was surprised about how quickly the year has already passed me by. I also am shocked by how grown up and mature I feel now. Living on campus has created its own set of challenges. Not being able to cook my own food has been a large one that has been hard to overcome because there is no easy solution for creating healthy meals at a reasonable price in your own kitchen. An easy challenge I have gotten used to quickly is walking from place to place. I enjoy relaxing and listening to music while I walk now.

Major

My intended major is nursing. I have learned so much new information about the nursing field. For example sociology and how to be more compassionate in patient care. The more I learn about nursing the more excited I am to begin my journey as a nurse. I am excited to work with real patients and make positive impacts within their lives. I am also more interested in Nuclear Medicine.

Connecting to Campus

One problem I have found with campus life that ODU could assist me with is finding better meals. Majority of the time the dining hall will serve tons of seafood which I am deathly allergic to. I have an upper class man cooking me dinner on nights ODU serves lots of seafood in the dining hall to keep me safe. I have not yet attended an interest meeting or club due to the fact that I am busy with swimming.

Themester: Sustainability (Environment)

I have learned many new sustainable habits this semester so far like studying little by little before a test instead of all the night before. I would also like to start implementing study groups into my routine to add extra homework help that would relieve my stress. I would like to learn more time management skills this semester.

FINAL REFLECTION

Mid Semester Reflection Study Habits Looking back on my semester so far, I see myself shining in my world literature class.
