Skills

Essential Work Habits

Awareness and knowledge of standards, practices, procedures and methods.

During my school I continued to maintain my Security + certification through continuing educations. I also utilized my class assignments to keep up my knowledge for best practices. In my career paper I demonstrated my knowledge on the way Cyber Security Analysts keep maintain secure networks. I also expanded my knowledge and how to spot dangerous traffic that could potentially occur on a network through my Wireshark assignment.

Technical Foundation

Proficiency in programming with Python.

When I was enrolled in ITP 100 which is a software design class, I was tasked with writing Python programs every week. I wrote a program that was capable of accepting input in the form of prices/fees and then calculating them altogether to give a total loan cost for a condominium. I also wrote this program that can be used to build a monthly budget. The third program that I wrote was one of my favorites. It was a payroll calculator and you could input the number of hours worked, gross pay, number of employees, and even taxes to get the overall payroll of a company.

Detailed Knowledge of Key Technologies

Linux Operating Systems

This is a skill that I began building in the Navy when I first became a Linux systems administrator. I was able to continue to polish this skill during my school time as well. This assignment from my CYSE 270 class demonstrates my complete understanding of creating groups and altering file permissions within the Linux environment. Another assignment in CYSE 270 shows my thorough knowledge of using VI editor on the Linux server. Finally, I went on to use my Linux skills in my CYSE 301 class and was able to play attacker to learn about exploits utilizing the Linux server to scan for vulnerabilities on another machine through this assignment.
