There are great possibilities yet deep concerns, both ethically and medically. On the ethical side of the argument you can use gene modification to choose traits such as eye color, hair color, body type as well as intelligence level, personality traits, and even mental health. In my own opinion nobody should be able to control those things, no one should get to play &#8220;god&#8221;. If you go even deeper than that the social divide that this could cause would worsen the gap we already have. The availability of gene editing is surely only promised to the rich, influential, and powerful. Those who usually don&#8217;t have the best intentions. Then, creating a human with all their specifications just to live out their dreams and desires, I think that alone should keep red flags raised when speaking about the ethics of gene modification. This is all not to say that CRISPR gene editing wouldn&#8217;t be helpful.
