1. Study Habits
On average I spend at least 30 minutes to an hour studying for each class every week. My study habits do tend to reflect my study habits such as my sociology class because I have not yet mastered a proper study habits for this class. Therefore, I need to spend more time studying in this course. I believe a bad habit of mine would be trying to study for most of my classes within one day instead of studying for certain classes for specific days. I typically study at my desk in my room or in my dining room. At times I do tend to get distracted, so I take breaks and come back to continue studying. Also, its best to step away from studying, so I do not burn myself out.
2. Learning Styles
I have tried new study techniques recently such as typing my notes instead of writing them and using quizlets for reviews. This method seems better because I am able to keep my notes more organized. My study habits vary for each class. For example, for my sociology class I simply take notes on the powerpoints and review the material I may not understand. Also, for my chemistry class I take notes on the lecture videos and use quizlets to familiarize myself with the material by using the flashcards.
3. Transition to College
Being thus far in college it is not what I expected due to the online classes. I was expecting to be on campus more and interacting with others but, the coronavirus had different plans. My favorite thing about campus is the Webb Center. I have only been in there once, but I enjoyed it and the toughest challenge would be that I am not there as often as others.
4. Connecting to Campus
One problem I experienced this semester was a hold placed on my account which would have prevented me from registering for my classes. I handled this problem going to the financial aid office, and the problem was fixed. Also, this semester I have received help from my advisor and support from my best friend. My advisor helped my by providing me with organizational methods. I have not yet participated in any clubs, but I plan to join Rely for Life.
