The first major I picked that is related to cybersecurity is a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Computer science is a major that involves the study of computers and programming. Cybersecurity is related to computer science because in computer science a person has to have a decent amount of knowledge in everything that is involved with computers. Cybersecurity is a big part of computers. Cybersecurity is practically a subset of Computer Science. The second major that is related to cybersecurity is computer engineering. In computer engineers people organize, design, apply digital processing systems, and bridge hardware and software. They design software and use different programs to solve all different types of problems. Computer engineering relates to cybersecurity because computer engineers almost all internet organizations need cybersecurity to protect what they are building no matter what it is. The third major I picked that is related to cybersecuirty is cyber operations. Cyber operations is an Cyber Operations is an interdisciplinary major encompassing the entire scope of cyberspace and related operations that are both technical and non-technical. Cyber operations performs activities to gather evidence against possible real time threats. Cyber operations is basically an extension of cyber secuirty. They are different things but in combination they work great together. The fourth major I picked that relates to cyber security is computer information science. Computer information science is a masters degree is computer science. It goes more in depth about the study of computers and programming. This major goes into more theories, methadology, and engineering. Computer information sciences relates to cyber security because it in order to be sucessful in this major it goes through xome cyber security and they have to have background knowledge in it. Again just like computer sciences cumputer information science is still a subset of cyber security. Of course there are more majors than this but these I believe are some of the most popular majors that are related to Cyber security at Old Dominion University.
