How does cyber technology impact interactions between offenders and victims?

Cyber technology is a new way of communication. Someone can be across the country and still talk to a person. With this being said it is also a lot easier to cyber harass or cyberstalk. It is a lot easier for an offender to harass a victim over the internet. A major reason that it is so easy because of the anonymity that the internet has. A person can make multiple accounts under different names and appearances just to talk to one person. If they constantly are changing accounts and appearances it is very hard to figure who the offender actually is. Even if the victim has repeatedly blocked them from talking to them they can still find a way around it. Also for some reason when an offender is over the internet they tend to act braver than they would face to face. I think it has something to do with the offender not feeling responsible or not accountable because they are not talking or making threats in person, which is not the case. It does not matter if the harassment over the phone, through email, through text messages, or face to face all threats and harassment are the same. It does not matter what type it all is the same. It is also the same concept with cyberstalking if anything cyberstalking is even worse and harder to catch. Cyberstalking through the internet is a very scary thing. The offender could be watching the victim’s every move, every post, constantly starting at photos, and trying to find their location. All of this can be done without the victim even knowing. The interaction between offender and victim can be very limited or excessive but either way, each one is just as valid as the other one. All types of cyber harassment can be hard to catch even if they contact the victim or if they do not.
