Assignment Takeaway

This election was very important just like any other but I couldn’t help but think about how many times the election has come down to picking the lesser evil rather than having a distinctively decent candidate.

In Assignment 3 we were required to decide whether it is possible to say something racist and not be racist. In my opinion it isn’t , at all, whatsoever. And the lack of conviction of acts or racism is the reason why it is still rampant in America in 2020. I do think it is possible to change but if you able to spew words of hate then that makes you hateful until hate becomes something you actively reject and refuse to embody.

This assignment made me think a lot about our election and how both candidates have been caught in acts of prejudice and or racism. Its extremely sad that throughout much of Americas history our presidential candidates have been racist and many even owned slaves themselves. Somehow being hateful toward a large population of people that live here doesn’t disqualify someone from running to be the person who is suppose to represent all of us.
