For the life of me I can’t explain how I didn’t realize we were suppose to be doing these artifacts until module 12, so I don’t have enough to pick 5 and will use the two I have to receive some sort of credit.
Between Module 12 and 13 my favorite archive would have to be 12. Mainly because I could never understand the prisoners dilemma and the second time learning about it was just as confusing as learning about it in international relations. Module 12 really got me thinking about how important perspective is to properly interpreting a situation. It can be very easy to take something the wrong way or label it as something it isn’t because of lack of understanding of the situation. For example I used a picture of a wolf pack for module 12 because wolves are often seen as aggressive, dangerous etc. which are all negatively connotated. But in actuality this just is how they have evolved to hunt on prey in order to survive.
Module 12 Archive items
The situations that I thought showed the most aggression were when the man kicked a cat, a man mentally rehearsed his murder before he commits it, and juvenile gang members attack members from another gang. I don’t think that accidents count as an expression of aggression. I think that some of the other situations where it isn’t crystal clear whether there was aggression involved would have to be looked at case by case. For example the wolves fighting for the head of the pack isn’t bad because that is something instinctual for them to do however it is still an aggressive act. I think that we naturally interpret aggression as having a negative connotation which isn’t always the case.

module 14
I believe that happiness occurs when you decide to be grateful for what you have and where you are instead of when you get to a certain place in life. Question 4 was a good measure of happiness because it mentions remaining in a good head space no matter what is happening in your life. I think the idea of happiness has been screwed and makes people believe that negative feelings and events can’t occur if your happy but this isn’t the case. Western cultures emphasize personal freedom, success, and material gains in creating a “happy” life while eastern cultures generally promote gratitude, service to others, and a cruelty free approach to the world to be happy.
