ATA 5

The fifth assignment was probably one of my favorite assignments out of all of the five. I liked that we could search up any country and topic of our choosing and I chose to search up personality and chinese into my google scholar search bar. I chose the article where they talked about mental illness in china. I learned that mental illness is not really that common in china because some of their beliefs make it a little hard. I liked this assignment the most because I learned so much about the asian culture that i didn’t get to to learn when I took chinese in high school.

ATA 4

The fourth assignment was on advertisements of women and men in America and compare them to ads in another country. I will say that this was probably one of my least favorite assignments because I could not find that much information on ads in other countries like I could find of America. I thought the ads in America were interesting to look at, its crazy how they degraded women publicly and basically humiliated them in most old advertisements. The only way I feel as if the assignment relates to me is that I am a woman and I see how they get treated in the real world.

ATA 3

The third assignment was on Studying Abroad and how emotions can affect your experience. If I was to rate that assignment on a scale 1 through 10, I would rate it an 8 because I enjoyed reading about other peoples experience when studying abroad. I’ve always had thought about studying in another country but to be honest I never got the chance to think any further about it due to covid, but now that some of the covid restrictions are down in most countries I think I would like to look into it. This assignment made me think about how I let my emotions make most of my decisions of how sometimes I let them ruin my day when doing something. I think it is an important factor to consider when making certain decisions.

ATA 2

The second assignment was on America’s Values and In my opinion I thought that the assignment was interesting because I learned about some of our country’s values that I did not know that we had. I chose to write about Equality/ Egalitarianism because that is what stuck out to me the most and surprised me as a value due to our history of equality. It helped me look at myself differently after completing cause I realized that I will need to work harder to get what I want because of my skin color and gender, even though one of our values are Equality it does not mean that equality gets represented.
