The athlete that I have chosen in this blog prompt is Ryan Lachine who is a new first year freshman at
Old Dominion University from Williamsburg, Virginia. He may or may not have experience into personal
branding. Being a Freshman there is a lot he needs to learn to create his personal brand that will help
him long term in case he is interested in going professional which is how fans will view him and
endorsers will view him as a candidate. This reputation that he will create will bring him more fans and
the endorsers who are interested will look at his image and figure out if he fits the image that they are
going for. The biggest and first thing that Ryan should do is utilize his social media as a platform because
in this day in age the thing that most people are on is social media with Instagram, Tik Tok, and Twitter being the biggest faces of social media. With those platforms he should first make sure that all his names for each account are the same or as similar as possible so he is easy to be found. The next thing he should do is try finding media partnerships which will provide coverage of your name this can even be small brand partnerships that you may model for on social media or small products that you may have to post and get their name out so they can get your name out. This also goes along well with advertising which is better to lead with smaller brands who are starting off similar to you as you are a smaller brand yourself. You don’t just have to advertise brands but you can advertise yourself by being connected with the promoting of games for your team as being the cover of game announcements this included local billboards, radio stations, and even local organizations that can get your name out there for being present. Lastly and I think something that is very important as an athlete is interacting with your fans that support you or your team. The fan base is the biggest thing about a brand there would be no brand if nobody supports you and through this support is where others find out about your brand by word of mouth and others posting about your brand and what you represent. Interacting with fans also shows who you are to others and brings up attributes about yourself as a brand and those fans will tell others about those attributes which will create more attraction to your name.
