Music may be used as a means to connect with people with common interests. There have been many similarities between my music preference and someone whom I have dated or even just my friends. I usually share values and ideals with those same people. Connections between music and relationships tend to form, associating songs with memories, whether good or bad. The songs that I chose for my list capture my outlook on life, particular thoughts, and associations between specific a song and a specific person.  One of my favorite rap lyrics is by Drake. He said, “I told my story and made History”, it is a great play on words because it is literal and figurative. Music is timeless and the lyrics shared may express stories in which people can relate to. I believe that music is a form of expression. Listening to music is therapeutic for me regardless of my mood.
