I am familiar with Jean Kilbourne’s Killing Us Softly videos. I have watched a couple of them years ago and even wrote about the topic of the negative elements of advertising, more specifically sexism in advertising. Furthermore, I continue to study and ready about the false portrayals in which advertisements depict that lucrative companies use in hopes to sell their products. I am very aware of the flawless that cannot be naturally achieved despite the ads perpetuating their ideals.  However, watching this video in particular provided additional information in understanding gender representation concerning age, in which she expresses how the industry emphasizes on youth. After viewing these videos as well as studying the concept further, I actively analyze advertisements separating ideals from realities.
