I chose this photo because it represents my preferred method of self-portraits, in which I feel as though I am able to convey the best presentation of myself.

Assignment two was a self-analysis in which, I made reflections on a group of my self-portraits. I also included my results of the Self-Regulation Questionnaire. Each photo I chose represented myself at different times in my life, as well as different stages of growth. I described the significance of the memories associated with each photo, the emotion in which I was feeling, and the roles I played in relation to those that were in the photos with me.  Each photo was described through my lens, in which I gave an explanation of how each photo was a presentation of me. Through this assignment I learned that self-portraits can be perceived as more than just great photos, but more so as presentations and representations of in depth meanings. Moreover, I realized my analysis with my photos may not align with what someone else may analyze. I can relate these aspects of self-regulation to my communications courses in which, I analyze myself, aware that one’s understanding may not match up with the message I am trying to convey. Being that I am a communications major, all the classes I take usually intertwine with course subjects that relate to each other.  All in which are relevant as I increase my critical thinking and try to effectively communicate messages.
