Artifact 7:
In this project, “Cybersecurity Policy Development for SMEs,” I developed a comprehensive cybersecurity policy tailored for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The artifact involved an analysis of typical cybersecurity vulnerabilities faced by SMEs, followed by the formulation of policies that address these vulnerabilities effectively. This project integrated knowledge from cybersecurity, business management, and legal studies to ensure the policies were not only technically sound but also compliant with current data protection laws.

The project required a fusion of technical cybersecurity knowledge with insights from business operations and legal constraints. By applying concepts from different disciplines, I was able to create a set of policies that were practical, implementable, and legally compliant. The technical aspects covered included data encryption standards, access control measures, and incident response strategies, while the business and legal components addressed the operational impact and regulatory compliance.

The challenge was to balance technical security needs with business functionality and legal requirements. I learned the importance of clear, accessible communication when creating guidelines that staff at all levels of an organization could easily understand and implement. The project enhanced my ability to think critically about the application of security measures within a business context, ensuring they bolster security without impeding business operations.

This artifact is directly relevant to roles in cybersecurity policy development, compliance, and consultancy. It showcases my ability to craft detailed, robust security policies that support business objectives and comply with legal frameworks—a critical skill for cybersecurity professionals working with SMEs.
