When I first attended TCC, they didn’t have a music production class, so I took Cybersecurity as my major instead. Since then, I’ve been interested in Cybersecurity as a whole, and I’ve described myself as a kid in a candy shop with all the many different areas in Cybersecurity. Another reason why I am interested in Cybersecurity is that there is room for me to grow in this field, such as by learning new skills and understanding new technologies and the current technological landscape. Second, I will have access to a wide variety of job opportunities. My father has been in this industry for the past 25 years, both in the public and private sectors, and he’s always told me that there are many different paths I could take; he just wants me to pick the one that feels like it’s the best fit for me. I’ve talked to him about this many times. The field of Cybersecurity offers the highest possible growth potential, both for your career path and for the opportunities to learn new things. Its scope is constantly expanding. When the pandemic began, everyone lost their jobs, with the exception of those who worked for the government or the military, as well as those who worked in the private and public sectors. I want a job where I know that even if there is another pandemic, I won’t lose my job and I’ll be able to keep it, and I also want a job where the salary for someone as young as me is perfect, to begin with, and will continue to grow as I progress through the company. In this day and age, everything is done digitally, and people can cause damage just by sitting at their computers, which is why I am interested in Cybersecurity. The final reason is that I can protect my home from both external and internal threats.
