It is possible to think of a computer as an electronic device that consists of a processing unit, a memory unit, and other hardware units such as an interface, network cards, ports, and other components. Computers are built to carry out complicated calculations and to run several different applications at the same time.
The following is a list of ways that computers have made the world safer:
1) Healthcare features can be utilized on computers with the internet and system hardware, which saves a significant amount of time for prescriptions from doctors, particularly in an emergency. Computers have contributed to improving the healthcare system by reducing the time needed for treatment and increasing the likelihood that the patient will require immediate treatment.
2) Computers have also provided digital locking, such as biometric scanning or digital gate locking, which helps safeguard the house and prevent unauthorized access at home or the workplace, improving security and eliminating the need for physical security members. This removes the need for physical security members (humans).
3) The banking system is now much more secure due to the introduction of online banking methods. These online banking methods are highly secure, and customers no longer need to go to the branch for banking services physically.
The following are some of the ways that computers have made the world less safe:
1) Attackers try to access the confidential information of users, which always makes those users vulnerable to one attack or another, including phishing, sniffing, denial of service attacks, and more, which unquestionably makes the world a less safe place.
2) Businesses routinely monitor their customers’ information, including the users’ locations and the content that can be viewed on their mobile devices. This makes it riskier for customers to use their computers and the internet, leaving them open to various cyberattacks.
3) The computer has an option or feature known as anonymity, which allows the user to hide their name and additional details; however, some people take advantage of this feature to troll other users and engage in cyberbullying, which makes the situation less safe for those who are bullied online.
