Because of the rapid advancement of technology and the growing dependence of people all over the world on personal computers and the internet, a new category of criminal activity known as “cybercrime” has been on the rise in recent years. What is more technically referred to as “electronic crime” is more commonly referred to as “cybercrime.” The use of a computer, a network, or the internet in order to carry out an illegal act is the common denominator among all types of cybercrime. This category of illegal activity encompasses a wide range of wrongdoing. This category of illegal activity is referred to as “cybercrime” because it involves the use of computers and connections to online networks. It is necessary to have an understanding of the various subgenres of cybercrime in order to have a complete comprehension of what is meant by the term “cybercrime.” You can’t learn one without learning the other when it comes to criminal justice and cybercrime because everyone and everything is on the internet, and some of them are easy targets for cybercrime. Due to the fact that they are intertwined, it is impossible to learn one without also learning the other. College students who are interested in studying criminal justice may have the opportunity to specialize in cybercrime if they so choose. They would be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and training necessary to either prevent or solve cases of cybercrime as a result of this. This course will cover a variety of topics, including white-collar crime as one of them. White-collar crimes are the most common kind of offense committed online because they do not involve any kind of physical violence and are primarily motivated by the desire to acquire financial gain. These kinds of illegal activities were carried out away from the computer in the days before the internet; however, in the modern era, they are carried out at an alarmingly rapid rate within the realm of the internet and its source.
