I think Money is the makes the most sense in the aspect that everyone is motivated through it for the most part, and with the rise of encrypted coin making it harder to trace illegal transaction. I think Political is right behind money just because of what can happen from a political standpoint and the younger generation take over. Young activists making their presence felt by looking for ways to make a political point, they are called “Hacktivists”. Revenge is the next in order, this is up so high because in other countries there is still not that many laws for cybercrime and it slips through the cracks. Revenge Porn in countries like Wales is becoming a problem with an increase every year. Recognition is a big part because these people who live behind these computers have a chance to see what the lime light is like. Boredom is another part of this, cyber bullying and people with time on their hands. This is going to lead to more and more problems. Entertainment comes next on the list, one article that you linked was about a man who was data scrapping which is when you write a piece of software to visit a webpage, read the data displayed, and then it adds it to a data base. It’s done for fun but if you are going to run around and sell the data for profit then this just proves the point of money being the number one drive for cybercrime. Next is multiple reasons, I think one’s passion for it might that play some role but can fall into any category.
