1. Information Technology – This major is absolutely related to Cybersecurity because many of the jobs related to this major are based around network security and analyzing networks. Thus, having knowledge and experience with Cybersecurity will help you expand your experience and make you more attractive to potential firms.
2. Computer Science – This field primarily focuses around working with the various coding languages and working with those languages to create programs to analyze data. Cybersecurity is important for this because you do not want someone to gain access to your codes for your software and manipulate it to use it maliciously.
3. Criminal Justice – This major could benefit from having Cybersecurity because with the increase of the reliance on the internet and technology for all of our accounts, having an understanding of how to handle these crimes when they take place would be very beneficial.
4. Philosophy – This major teaches the ability to look at the world from varying perspectives and forces you to challenge yourself to try seeing a situation differently than you normally would. Being flexible and understanding various cultures is a strength that is necessary for having a better understanding of how to prepare for cyber attacks.
