Describe three ways that computers have made the world safer and less safe.

Computers have provided us with amazing opportunities to make our lives much easier and accomplish many tasks much more efficiently than ever before, however, they have also provided avenues for which we can be easily manipulated and used for malicious reasons. For this, I will give the 3 ways computers have negatively impacted us first and finish with the positive.

Less Safe

• We are constantly online; our information is readily available and the potential for our data to be breached and for an attack to happen is very high.
• The potential for a major attack on critical pieces of infrastructure that would cause catastrophic damage is much higher because of our reliance on technology to control and run these systems.
• With every advancement comes new possible threats and ways to manipulate the systems to cause harm to others.

More Safe

• It is much more efficient to run our infrastructure now than ever before because we have technology, we can rely on less manpower to manage these systems as well which saves us time and money.
• It is way more efficient to manage our accounts and billing now that we are online, because in many cases you can link everything to one place, which makes it easier for people to manage and remember their bills.

We are more connected to what is going on in the world globally because we have access to other people from around the world much easier. This allows us to communicate with someone
