Summary:

Her name is Lillian. She works as an LPN and has her LPN degree!! They work at a retirement community called, The Chesapeake. What inspired her to be a LPN was her second cousin. She told me that she was in the medical field and saw how good she was doing. She got her CNA license before becoming an LPN. She wanted to get her foot in the door and then begin to pursue her career. Her main duties are passing out meds, checking wounds, charting information based off her residents conditions for the day, and trying to provide the best care possible. She thinks sustainability is important because it leads to a safer environment for everyone. She thinks her job needs more methods for sustainability. She claims they are more focused on other things. She thinks they need to implement more plans to educate everyone more on sustainability and what we can do to improve it. She thinks everyone should get together to develop a plan. She believes the most rewarding part of her job is helping her residents/patients. She likes to take part in their well-being. She thinks the most surprising thing about her job is the fact that you encounter many different scenarios. She thinks the most challenging part of her career is the fact that it’s fast paced. You need to be able to work fast and efficiently. The advice she gives is to not be nervous about pursuing a career in healthcare field. She wants people who decide/want to be nurses, to do it for the right reasons. What I learned from this interview was how rewarding it can be. I do believe that helping your residents out is a big part. I also learned that many jobs may not practice sustainability.
